Detox Smoothies

Strawberries & Cream Smoothie

1 cup frozen strawberries
1 tbsp ground flaxseed
250 ml almond milk
1 tsp raw honey

Combine all the ingredients in a good powerful blender and blend until lovely and creamy. Serve immediately and enjoy.

Whopping amounts of antioxidants, protein and omega 3 as well as being alkaline to support and nourish your liver and immune system.

Blueberry & Coconut Smoothie

1 young coconut
1 cup frozen blueberries
1 tbsp ground flax seed

Combine the young coconut juice and flesh, blueberries and flax in a good powerful blender and blend until smooth and creamy.
Serve immediately and enjoy!

High in Vitamin C to support healthy skin and immune system. Young coconut water acts like an electrolight to help hydrate your cells, transport energy and boost metabolic rate. Flax is high in omega 3 that also helps stimulate the secretion of leptin, a hormone to suppress appetite and burn stored body fat.

Cherry Ripe Smoothie

half cup frozen Cherries
1 tbsp ground LSA
250 ml organic rice milk
1 tsp raw honey

Combine all the ingredients in a good powerful blender and blend until lovely and creamy. Serve immediately and enjoy.

Cherries are packed with the antioxidants C + E which help support the immune system and fight disease. LSA is a combination of linseed, sunflower seed and almond – high in vitamin E and omega 3 essential for heart and brain health.

Banana cream pie smoothie

1 frozen banana, chopped
1 pear, chopped
250 ml almond milk
1 tbsp LSA (linseed, sunflower seed and almond)
1 tsp vanilla extract
pinch cinnamon

Combine all the ingredients in a good powerful blender and blend until smooth and creamy. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Adding a touch of cinnamon helps utilize blood sugar and boosts brain activity!

Detox Juices

Ruby Red Juice

1 beetroot
1 celery stick
1 apple
½ cucumber

Put all the ingredients through a juicer. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Rich in antioxidants, beetroot juice has been found to lower blood pressure and may be helpful for preventing oxidation on LDL (bad) cholesterol. Rich in silica, bio-available vitamin C, magnesium, manganese and potassium.

Inflammation Fighter

1 carrot
1 celery stick
½ apple
2cm piece ginger or to taste

Put all the ingredients through a juicer. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Helpful for liver function and cell protection through it’s antioxidant content this anti-inflammatory juice is alkalising, may lower blood pressure and cholesterol and has anti-cancer properties.

Turbo charger

½ cucumber
½ apple
1 slice pineapple
1 cup spinach
1 whole lemon
2cm piece ginger or to taste

Put all the ingredients through a juicer. Serve immediately and enjoy!

This super juice is packed with folate and enzymes. Incredibly alkalising and rich in chlorophyll it may help with cleansing and detoxification.

Gluten free – sugar free – low GI – high chlorophyll

Healthy Green Smoothie

1 avocado or 1 banana
1 frozen banana or berries or mango (whatever fruit you have frozen)
1 handful of baby spinach leaves or rocket leaves or kale
1 – 2 heaped teaspoon of spirulina /barley grass /wheatgrass /blue green algae (optional)
1 tablespoon of raw honey (Can use rice malt syrup, stevia or organic maple syrup as alternatives)
1 tablespoon of raw cacao powder
1 handful of goji berries (optional)
1 tablespoon of a good probiotic (optional)
1 cup of ice
2 cups of rice, almond, oat, cow or goats milk

Method:

BLEND. It’s that easy. Feel free to vary the proportions and ingredients according to taste and to what’s in the pantry.

You may even like to add an omega 3 oil such as fish or flaxseed oil or some chia seeds or soaked raw nuts.

Jungle Juice

1 clove fresh garlic
½ teaspoon fresh ginger sliced thin
½ lemon squeezed
½ tsp cent finely chopped lemon rind
1 teaspoons honey (manuka honey is ideal)
1 pinch cayenne pepper

Method:

1. Chop Garlic & Ginger.

2. Add all ingredients to boiling water.

3. Cover for 5 minutes.

4. Drink mixture whilst hot.

5. Dress in warm clothes to encourage sweating.
